The World English Bible (http://ebible.org/bible/web/) is used as a base text. It was chosen for being an updated version of the American Standard Version of 1901, a reliable and reputable translation. The WEB is a public domain modern English translation which can be freely downloaded at http://ebible.org/bible/web/. For the purposes of this project it has been decided to replace the obsolete expression ‘behold’ with more modern equivalents such as ‘think of this’, ‘think of it’, ‘consider this’, ‘see!’, ‘look!’, ‘consider how’, ‘and there’, depending on the context. The Greek for ‘behold’ has been given in each case.
